The Shipping module manages the final stage of order fulfillment within DASH, coordinating the movement of finished goods from production facilities to customers. It handles shipping documentation, customer order tracking, and logistics coordination to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
This module is primarily used by shipping coordinators, logistics managers, and customer service representatives who oversee order fulfillment, manage shipping schedules, and coordinate with carriers. The shipping team works closely with production schedulers to prioritize orders based on customer requirements and shipping deadlines.
What You Can Do
Shipping contains several submodules that manage different aspects of the fulfillment process:
- Advanced Shipping Notices submodule: Manages shipping notifications and customer communications related to order fulfillment.
- Bill of Lading submodule: Handles freight documentation and shipping paperwork required for carrier coordination.
- Kits submodule: Manages product kits that contain multiple finished goods components. As mentioned in production scheduling, kits require ensuring all components are available before shipment.
- Print Shipping Documents submodule: Generates shipping labels, documentation, and paperwork needed for order fulfillment.
- Reports submodule: Provides shipping-related reporting and analytics capabilities.
- Selector submodule: Manages order selection and picking processes for fulfillment operations.
- SPD submodule: Handles specialized shipping and distribution functions, primarily for eCommerce orders.
These tools support the complete shipping workflow from order prioritization through customer delivery. Real-time inventory tracking follows finished goods from production palletization through daily transfers between facilities, while manual customer allocation ensures proper distribution of available inventory across multiple orders.
