Overview

The Part Information module serves as the central hub for managing all product and material data within DASH. This module handles everything from raw materials and finished goods to work-in-process items, formulations, and compliance documentation. It’s essential for maintaining accurate product specifications, pricing, inventory tracking, and regulatory compliance across all manufacturing and distribution operations. This module is used by product managers, lab technicians, compliance specialists, finance teams, and operations staff who need to create, modify, and track product information throughout the product lifecycle.

What You Can Do

In the Part Information module you can:
  • Maintenance: Configure item types, product lines, and sub line categories that support part classification.
  • Manage Formulas: Develop and maintain product formulations with ingredient specifications and percentages.
  • Manage Holds: Place and manage quality holds on materials or finished goods when issues are identified.
  • Manage MSDS Sheets: Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets for regulatory compliance and safety requirements.
  • Manage Parts: Create, edit, and maintain all part records including specifications, pricing, and relationships.
  • Manage Product Classes: Organize products into pricing and classification categories.
  • Reports: Generate various reports including individual part usage, inventory adjustments, and scrap tracking.

Who Uses This Module

Product Managers and Engineers: Create and maintain part specifications, manage product lifecycles, and coordinate with customers on new product development. Lab Technicians: Develop formulations, manage formula versions, and ensure product specifications meet quality standards. Lab staff primarily use the Manage Formulas submodule. Compliance Team: Maintain MSDS sheets, manage product holds for quality issues, and ensure regulatory compliance. Tamara in compliance manages holds and toxicology documentation. Finance Team: Set up product classes and pricing structures, manage cost information, and maintain customer-specific pricing. Operations and Scheduling: Access part information for production planning, material requirements, and inventory management. Quality Control: Place holds on materials with quality issues, track non-conformance, and manage scrap approvals.
